Advisory Boards
AREN has two Advisory Boards which
provide broad representation across the globe. This ensures our
"Bridging The Gap" agenda is shaped and strongly supported by local and
international actors within the global research and open science ecosystems. The boards generally offer insights into local and international interventions to promote best research practices and improve research culture - helping AREN's efforts effectively complement and contribute to their implementation.
Local Advisory Board
The Local Advisory Board provides strategic advice and input on how AREN's programs and activities can be tailored to sustainably meet the needs of the broader African research ecosystem and align with continent-wide developments and strategies for promoting open and reproducible research principles. The Board also facilitates collaboration with various stakeholders across the continent including institutions, publishers, funders and other sectoral organisations.
International Advisory Board
The International Advisory Board offers strategic advice on global
perspectives, ensuring AREN's activities and programs are in synergy with global
developments and standards regarding open and reproducible research
principles and practices. The Board also facilitates collaboration with various
stakeholders across the globe including pro-Open Science organisations and initiatives, publishers, funders and other sectoral organisations.
